Claims Auditor

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a senior level Corporate Claims Auditor in our Edmonton Head Office.  Reporting to the Vice President, Claims, the successful individual will be focused on performing, analyzing and reporting on claims audits; ensuring our standards of consistent and high quality claims handling are met by offering expert advice to the Claims departments. More specifically:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

⪧ Conduct quality audits of claims, auditing files to ensure consistency within the organization and assure corporate standards are met.
⪧ Examine complex files, determine proper reserving and you’ll provide advice on further handling.
⪧ Communicate audit observations, recommendations, process improvement opportunities, and best practices.
⪧ Analyze claim trends and develop reports to summarize findings, including reporting stability of reserves on large losses.
⪧ Work closely with the Claims Examiners, on larger files, providing feedback and communicating between Management and department leads.
⪧ Assess department audit processes and identify process improvements.
⪧ Evaluate training needs that are identified through the audit process and you’ll act as a lead on various corporate projects

 

Required Qualifications:

⪧ Ten (10) years’ experience in Claims with strong technical work experience in both Bodily Injury and Property, as well as previous experience adjusting/examining large losses.
⪧ Strong analytical, problem solving skills, and confidence in decision making.
⪧ Exceptional communication skills and an enthusiasm for working closely with different people.
⪧ CIP or FCIP designation is an asset
⪧ Technically savvy - with strong MS Office suite and Outlook skills
⪧ You’re a terrific relationship builder.
⪧ You have strong negotiation skills and you have a desire to continuously improve.
