Senior Project Manager

We currently have a full-time position available for a Senior Project Manager in our Information Technology Department.  The position will report to the Vice President, Information Technology. Peace Hills Insurance has a strong history of leveraging technology to enable our business partners to delivery world-class service to our customers. The priority for this role over the coming years will be to lead the company through a multi-year business driven replacement of our core insurance management solution. Our current system is reaching end-of-life and we need to conduct a requirements driven build/buy assessment with a full RFP process. Based on the outcomes of this process, we will be moving forward with the overall project to replace the core system.

Your time will be spent:

⪧ Recommending and participating in the implementation of IT solutions that are right-sized to the organization
⪧ Delivering the full range of project management activities including preparing project plans/schedules, issues/risk identification/mitigation, status reporting, etc.
⪧ Developing project schedules, and strategies, estimating resource requirements, developing and monitoring workplans and taking corrective action to ensure the successful completion of project tasks
⪧ Leading cross-functional teams that will complete the following: initial research and design, implementation, evaluation and review, and performance monitoring
⪧ Delivering key projects that meet or exceed the needs of Business Leaders, Product Owners and key stakeholders
⪧ Identifying change management requirements (e.g., communication, training, etc.) and ensure that they are executed successfully
⪧ Guiding project resources in determining project priorities to ensure that tasks are completed on time and correctly
⪧ Collaborating with other internal teams and external vendors to ensure reciprocal business needs or limitations are considered throughout all stages of the project
⪧ Ensuring that relevant applications are effectively tested and implemented
⪧ Identifying opportunities to improve overall project related processes
⪧ Supporting other various strategic initiatives across the organization in a variety of capacities

Prior experience and qualifications of interest include: 

⪧ Post-secondary degree in a related field
⪧ 6 years’ experience leading major IT and business technology transformations
⪧ You have at least five years of applied and progressive leadership experience.
⪧ A Project Management designation (PMP) preferred
⪧ Exceptional communication skills across a range of forums and channels and with senior level stakeholders.
⪧ Understanding of agile concepts and demonstrated experience applying same
⪧ Experience in highly regulated industries/financial services; experience in the insurance industry would be considered an asset
⪧ Demonstrated experience with large ERP system implementations/replacements; experience with insurance system implementations would be an asset.
