#40Actsfor40Years Campaign Reflection
Cheers to 40 years indeed!
We are excited to report back about our #40Actsfor40Years campaign. Launched earlier this year, this campaign was meant to reinforce our core company ethics of being one that fosters camaraderie and giving back. In 40 randomly assigned teams, our staff were tasked with conducting an act of kindness or service within the community as both a way to illustrate these ethics and celebrate a monumental milestone; Peace Hills’ 40th anniversary.
“I am so proud of our staff and how creative they got for this initiative," said our CEO, Kathy Boychuk at our 40th Anniversary celebration in September. "We set the teams, gave them no rules, and the results are just fantastic.”
The staff of Peace Hills Insurance were able to contribute in some way to the following 34 organizations and public spaces.
- Alberta Legislature Grounds
- BCPSCA Kelowna
- The Bissell Centre
- Blackburn Park/Roots for Trees Program
- Braemar School
- Calgary Food Bank
- Canadian Volunteers United in Action (CANAVUA)
- Country Lane Pet Boarding
- Crossroads Community Church
- Edmonton and Area Land Trust: Maskihkîy Meskanaw, Glory Hills Conservation Lands
- Edmonton and Area Land Trust: Larch Sanctuary
- Edmonton Food Bank
- Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre
- Edmonton Meals on Wheels
- Edmonton River Valley
- English Bay Beach
- Ezio Faraone Park
- Free Store for Ukrainian Newcomers
- Hawrelak Park
- Jasper Avenue Sidewalks and Parks
- Katie Cares Organization
- Manitoba Harvest
- The Mustard Seed’s Prairie Manor
- Ottawa Humane Society

- Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church
- Stanley Park Seawall
- Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) Thrift Store

“We had a great time and it felt good to be able to give back, even just a little,” said Brian Gallimore, our Northern Alberta Commercial Lines Manager, who organized an afternoon at the Salvation Army Edmonton Temple to pack lunches for Braemar School with his team.
Our Business Intelligence Manager, Moe Esmaeili, is a newer member of staff and had similar sentiments about the campaign. “This was a ton of fun. It was a great opportunity to get to know our fellow coworkers better and see how we manage to work together outside of our usual teams. Thank you to Peace Hills for affording us the opportunity to do something (however small) for the community.”
A plaque with the list of organizations and public spaces listed above will be erected at our head office in downtown Edmonton. If you are ever paying us a visit, we welcome you to take a look. In the meantime, check out the photos we collected from our staff while they were completing their #40Actsfor40Years.
