Peace Hills earns top marks from broker partners in IBC’s 2020 Five-Star Carrier report

Insurance Business Canada’s annual Five-Star Carrier list offers an insight into which carriers are consistently providing top-notch service, and for the second year in a row, Peace Hills was included on that list. It’s an extremely coveted spot as IBC undertakes polling hundreds of insurance brokers across the country, ranking providers on a scale of 1-10 in various categories. Providers who score an 8 or greater in any of the categories are then officially deemed a Five-Star Carrier – less than 25 made the cut.

Not only did Peace Hills rate as a Five-Star Carrier for 2020, it turns out that we offer what the broker network indicates as the most important thing they look for in a carrier partner. A whopping 70% of brokers named competitive rates as their most crucial factor, and Peace Hills proudly rendered top marks in this category.

In addition to competitive rates, Peace Hills also scored an 8 or greater (the score required in order to be classed a Five-Star Carrier) in the following areas:

⪧ Commitment to the broker distribution channel;
⪧ Product training and marketing support;
⪧ Quick quotes; and
⪧ Technology and automation.

“We are honoured to be recognized by our broker partners for a second year in a row not just as a Five-Star Carrier, but specifically in our commitment to the broker distribution channel,” says Kathy Boychuk, President and CEO. “These relationships are one of the things we value most in our company, and something we continuously strive to nurture and grow.”

“It is interesting to see how differently we were rated this year compared to 2019,” adds Chad Shurnaik, VP of Underwriting and Marketing “It really validates all of the hard work we have done to improve in each of these areas.”

We would be remiss if we did not acknowledge the categories in which Peace Hills failed to score an 8 or greater this year. “While we are proud of the results in 2020, our culture of continuous improvement will drive us to progress in each of the remaining areas, and we already look forward to the 2021 report,” declares Boychuk.

There is little else more flattering that garnering the respect and trust amongst your colleagues, and being formally ranked as one of the top insurance providers by our brokers is just that. We have always believed that operating through the broker channel is the best way to distribute our product. Through this, brokers have become both our business partners and our customers, our peers and confidants, and in many cases, our friends.
