Billing Clerk

We currently have a full-time position available for a Billing Clerk in our Accounting Department. This role will be located in our Edmonton office. Reporting to the Billing Manager, the successful candidate will be a driven, positive and customer focused individual. What You’ll Do:

  • Answer phone calls from customers, brokers and other departments to address a variety of billing matters;
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies and other billing related issues for internal and external customers;
  •  Process, verify and posting of payments and refunds ensuring they are recorded correctly;
  • Complete system activities within deadlines and ensure effective and timely follow-ups;
  • Communicate with Underwriters on policies in arrears and receipt of payment ensuring policies are amended as needed;
  • Transfer balances between terms and other payment plans;
  • Perform reconciliations as required;
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in upholding our service standards and our commitment to continuous improvement;
  • Other Duties as Required.

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • High school diploma is required, relevant post-secondary education is desirable
  • Previous experience in Accounts Receivable and experience handling high volume of customer calls
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Clear and concise supportive communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analyze and resolve customer concerns (problem solving skills)
  • Exceptional attention to detail including a high degree of numerical accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft excel the ability to learn new computing software quickly
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a diverse team
  • Professional, efficient, and proactive with time-management and organizational skills
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in an environment of shifting priorities and pressures
  • Experience in the insurance industry and Guidewire would be an asset
  • Attendance and punctuality are imperative
