Underwriting Operations Analyst
Our Underwriting Operations team is growing! We currently have an opening for an Underwriting Operations Analyst based out of our Edmonton office. Reporting to the Manager, Underwriting Systems and Operations, this role ensures the accurate integration of underwriting rules and processes into systems. More specifically:
What You’ll Do:
- Lead assigned projects to implementation
- Lead testing and validation of complex underwriting rules, product updates, and pricing changes.
- Drive process improvement initiatives and system efficiencies.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and oversight to junior analysts.
- Serve as subject matter expert for underwriting systems and business logic.
- Liaise between business and technical teams to resolve issues across multiple platforms: Guidewire centers, Broker Management systems (including EDI, edoc), third party quoting tools (Applied, Acturis, etc…).
- Develop and deliver content for training materials related to underwriting systems, using a variety of training methods
- Collaborate with leadership on strategy, reporting, and implementation planning.
- Participate in preparation and completion of regulatory reporting as required
- Perform other duties as required
What You’ll Bring:
- Relevant post secondary education
- CIP or FCIP completed
- Minimum 7 years related experience in an underwriting role, multi line preferred
- Strong leadership, mentoring and collaboration skills
- Strong understanding of underwriting principles, products, and pricing
- Experience with business systems, process documentation, and testing
- Development and delivery of training materials
