Things To Do Immediately After a Loss
Property (Homeowner, Condominium Owner, Tenant or Business Owner)
⪧ Take reasonable steps to prevent further damage and do emergency clean up
⪧ Retain damaged or destroyed property for viewing by adjuster
⪧ Contact police on crime and fire losses
⪧ Contact your broker during business hours for non-emergency claims
Automobile
⪧ At the scene of an accident DO NOT admit fault
⪧ Call the police and an ambulance as required and assist the injured
⪧ Exchange information with other drivers and owners
⪧ Obtain witness names and contact information
⪧ If your car is not drivable, arrange for towing
⪧ Contact your broker during business hours for non-emergency claims
⪧ For non-collision losses secure the car from further damage
